The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has published the first edition of the Internet on-line "Intergovernmental Solutions Newsletter." Making the announcement was G. Martin Wagner, Associate Administrator of GSA's Office of Governmentwide Policy. Wagner said, "This newsletter is one of the initiatives in Vice President Gore's Access America Report.' The Report provides a vision for an electronic government that better serves all Americans."
"Our Office of Intergovernmental Solutions homepage provides a good first stop for managers embarking on intergovernmental journeys and seeking information on emerging initiatives," said Mr. Frank McDonough, Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Intergovernmental Solutions." He added, "The addition of the newsletter complements the homepage."
The newsletter will be available on-line three times a year. Each issue will capture experiences from around-the-world on a single, hot topic. The first newsletter focuses on smart cards and includes an assessment of trends and perspectives from international, Federal, State and local governments, as well as industry and academia.
The next issue will cover electronic commerce as an emerging intergovernmental solution. The third issue will examine contracting for government information technology activities.
