GSA Contracts Go To Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Firms

Posted December 22, 2006

Awards of the highly anticipated Veterans Technology Services (VETS) governmentwide acquisition contract (GWAC) were announced on December 18, 2006. Awards were made over two functional areas: Systems Operations and Maintenance and Information Systems Engineering.  The contract holders will provide integrated technology solutions worldwide to federal civilian and Department of Defense agencies.

The VETS GWAC provides federal agencies with a new option to help them meet or exceed small business goals through purchase of Information technology solutions from a pre-competed pool of well qualified service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) firms.  VETS is the first GWAC set-aside for SDVO small businesses in the market and is among the 8(a) Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services and the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone GWACs that are procured by the GSA Small Business GWAC Center. Federal customer agencies can draw from this pool of pre-competed firms to meet their technology needs.
