Serving our Country, Supporting our Community: GSA Employee Assists CFC Campaign as a Loaned Executive
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign with nearly 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and overseas, raising millions of dollars each year. Last year, GSA Mid-Atlantic regional employees contributed nearly $80,000 to charities through the CFC campaign.
GSA Business Development Specialist Jessica Giannone is serving a four-month detail as a loaned executive to CFC to assist with this year’s CFC campaign. Loaned executives serve as account managers for a portfolio of federal agencies, and work with the agencies during campaign season to encourage federal employee participation in the CFC. "CFC is a great opportunity for federal workers to unite in helping those in need and improving our communities both locally and around the world,” said Giannone. “As public servants, it is important for us to lead by example and participate in this worthy cause.”
CFC loaned executives worked to raise pledges of nearly $3.7 million last year, giving every federal employee the opportunity to donate to the cause of their choice. Giannone has enjoyed spending time with the charity campaign. "My experience with CFC thus far has been extremely valuable because it has afforded me the opportunity to learn how the participating charities truly change lives, particularly in our local communities,” said Giannone. “I am honored to represent both CFC and GSA.”
The 2013 CFC Campaign is currently underway and is scheduled to close on January 15, 2014. Be sure to take a look at the materials your agency’s Campaign workers have available and see how you can “make it possible.”
