Resources for Property Managers

The GSA child care program provides space and services for child care centers to operate in facilities under GSA control. Although GSA does not directly operate or contract for the child care centers in its system, GSA property managers are responsible for overseeing certain standards in managing the space and equipment of child care facilities located in their buildings.

To assist property managers with their daily and long-term management of child care centers within their facilities, GSA has developed the Property Manager’s Child Care Desk Guide, which provides insight into:

  • Licensing for use of space
  • Cleaning standards
  • Design and remodeling standards
  • Funding equipment
  • Environmental maintenance
  • Landscaping and playgrounds
  • Health and safety
  • Security issues
