The U.S. government's cloud computing initiative was the focus of GSA Chief Information Officer Casey Coleman's videotaped address to a group of government and business IT professionals in Singapore November 19. In her remarks, Coleman discussed the Obama administration's cloud efforts to date, and the importance of cloud computing to meeting the government's collaboration, transparency and cost savings goals.
Bringing cloud computing to the federal government is a high priority for the Obama administration and federal CIO, Vivek Kundra. As GSA's CIO, Coleman has been instrumental in this process. GSA also runs Apps.gov, an online storefront that offers cloud services and products to other government agencies.
