The Southeast Sunbelt Welcomes Sara Manzano-Diaz
The Regional Administrator for Region 3, Sara Manzano-Díaz, will take on the added responsibility of temporarily serving as the Acting Regional Administrator of Region 4. Mrs. Manzano-Díaz has decades of experience in public service at the local, state, and federal levels. Since last May, she has done an outstanding job as GSA’s Regional Administrator for the Mid Atlantic Region. We look forward to her contributions to Region 4.

Regional Historic Preservation Officer Writes Blog
Audrey Entorf, Regional Historic Preservation Officer for the Southeast Sunbelt, was asked to be a special contributor for the National Trust for Historic Preservation Leadership Forum. Mrs. Entorf discusses Federal Community Partnership Projects in Montgomery, Alabama. Region 4 has worked closely with the Alabama Historical Commission and the National Trust for Historic Preservation to preserve the Frank M. Johnson, Jr. United States Courthouse and the Greyhound Bus Station.
Southeast Sunbelt Region Uses Sustainable Design to Bring Building Back to Life
Just 8 short years ago, the George C. Young Federal Building and Courthouse was on life support. Built in 1975, by 2007 it appeared that its best days were far behind it. Many of its long time tenants including the U.S. District Court and other federal agencies had left for greener pastures in the newly constructed building on the opposite side of the courtyard, but a Region 4 dream team used ARRA funds to renovate and restore the building.
