Save that Stuff!

GSA New England recently signed a contract with Save THAT Stuff Inc., a full-service recycling and solid waste removal small business based in Charlestown, MA, that specializes in single stream recycling. This new process allows tenants to put all recyclables into one bin, helping to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. In addition, off-site composting of cafeteria waste will be added to the program. But the benefits don’t stop there. Single stream recycling also means cost savings with the elimination of traditional waste hauling fees and better waste management and control.

GSA will be using experience and knowledge gained to enhance the recycling program throughout the New England region, promote pollution prevention and eliminate waste to meet the goal of diverting at least 50% of all waste from landfills.

Single stream recycling is in full swing at the:

  • John F. Kennedy Federal Building
  • Thomas P. O’Neill, Jr. Federal Building
  • John W. McCormack Post Office and Courthouse
  • John J. Moakley United States Courthouse
  • John F. Williams Coast Guard Building
