GSA is about creating great workplaces for great people
By Tina Franzese
GSA’s commitment to delivering a sustainable government involves careful attention to the design of high-performance buildings. In pursuit of a LEED Gold certification, Region 2 GSA FAS is creating a nationwide model for all future sustainable agency renovations. In the design and execution of a sustainable environment, they are creating a model that “brings the spirit of their mission and vision vividly to life.”
In an effort to further contribute to GSA’s Zero Environmental Footprint (ZEF) initiative, Region 2 Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) recently renovated its offices at 26 Federal Plaza to attain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. In transforming their workspace, R2 FAS redesigned its space utilizing recycled materials for new construction, and implemented clean air systems, among other sustainable attributes including environmentally friendly products that foster an open and collaborative workspace.
It is anticipated that the offices at 26 Federal Plaza will be awarded a LEED Gold certification in the coming months. Take a look at this video to watch the transformation and hear firsthand how fellow FAS leaders and employees welcomed the new workplace.
