In May, the Pacific Rim Region received its first incentive payment of $27,514 for the new photovoltaic system at the Chet Holifield Federal Building in Laguna Niguel, Calif. This payment is the first of 60 monthly performance-based payments.
Energy efficiency programs provide a range of financial and other incentives to encourage investments in energy-efficient technologies related to services, and/or behavior changes. These incentives range from simple cash rebates for the purchase of efficient products to bundled customized financial incentives and technical assistance.
Since June 2007, the Pacific Rim Region has received $1,800,416 in incentives from energy savings, demand reduction and demand response projects and programs. Typical energy related improvement projects include advanced lighting systems, solar/renewable energy installations, and mechanical system improvements.
Significant additional incentive payments are anticipated from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) high-performance green building projects nearing completion.
