Ribbon Cutting Held at IRS Andover Campus

GSA and IRS officially re-opened a newly completed IRS campus in Andover, MA, with a ribbon cutting. The campus consolidates three leased locations from neighboring communities into the government-owned facility saving $4 million annually in leasing costs. The building now provides IRS with the office space needed to house 1,975 employees, process claims and respond to calls from across the country.

GSA and IRS worked with national and local firms to design and build this facility that uses cost-saving energy efficient technology. Most of the architectural engineering and construction services were sourced within the metro Boston area, creating contracting opportunities for businesses. Workers employed on this project ranged from approximately 25 professionals during the design phase to as many as 100 local professionals and laborers during the life of the project.
