GSA National Customer Service Center Covers the World, Serving Overseas Troops and Customers Around the Clock

WASHINGTON, Jan. 24, 2011 – As the sun rises on our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, so, too, has a new approach to overseas customer service dawned for GSA.

The National Customer Service Center in Kansas City, Mo., which assists war fighters and other customers with questions about purchasing, billing, product delivery, and other GSA services, has extended its operational hours to cover the world by being open 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday.

GSA customers will no longer have stay up late or get up early to talk to a National Customer Service Center representative. If GSA overseas customers in Africa, Europe, Korea, Guam, or Hawaii have questions, help will truly be only a phone call away.

“Our customers, especially our troops, have tremendously challenging jobs,” said Steven Kempf, commissioner of GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service. “Anything we can do to make reaching out to GSA easier and more productive means that we’re helping them meet their critical missions to protect and serve the nation.”

Feedback received from customers at the 2010 Outreach Europe and Africa Expo prompted the change.

The center will continue to close on weekends and federal holidays.
