WASHINGTON, DC --The U.S. General Services Administration today announced it has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a contractor to provide the facilities and all necessary management, supervision, personnel, equipment and supplies to establish and operate two telework centers in Montgomery County, Md., the first in the county.

One center will be located along the Route 355/ I-270 corridors. The second will be located along the corridor defined by Georgia and New Hampshire avenues.

"PBS aims to provide its Federal customers with a full range of workplace services, including teleworking capabilities," said F. Joseph Moravec, Commissioner of GSA's Public Buildings Service. "This is an important and attractive alternative to the traditional workplace. We appreciate the continuing support from Congress."

The need for the new telecenters surfaced during a GSA study, requested by Congress on the recommendation of Maryland Congresswoman Connie Morella, whose district includes Montgomery County. The GSA study, released in May, showed that more federal workers live in Montgomery County than in any other jurisdiction in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Separate awards will be made for each center, according to the RFP, issued July 15. Those interested in more information on the procurement may access the solicitation at http://www.eps.gov.
