Designed by Chicago architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and completed in 1975, the John C. Kluczynski Federal Building and Loop Station Post Office is a 43-story skyscraper paired with a separate one-story post office. Located in the Federal Plaza in Chicago's Central Loop, the Kluczynski building and plaza is bordered by Clark Street (west), Jackson Boulevard (south), Dearborn Street (east), and Adams Street (north). 

Amenities available to federal employees include a credit union and fitness center. The latest GSA Tenant Satisfaction Survey (2010) resulted in a 89% "more than satisfied" rating (four or five on a five-point scale) for the facility and GSA services.

The building was named after former Congressman John Carl Kluczynski.

The main plaza to the north features "Flamingo," a red steel sculpture created by world-renowned sculptor Alexander Calder.
