GSA Awards Consolidated VoIP Fair Opportunity to AT&T Across Three Regions

GSA provides competitively-priced Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions for federal agencies at a monthly “per seat price” under the Networx Enterprise Contract across GSA New England, Northeast Caribbean, and Mid-Atlantic Regions. By working collaboratively across Regional territories, GSA was able to award a consolidated VoIP contract and negotiate competitive pricing due to the increased geographic scope.

AT&T will provide a mix of hosted and premises-based VoIP solutions with 21 telephone features such as caller ID, call forwarding, call waiting, etc., and include 7,500 long distance monthly minutes per user as well as voice mail at no additional charge.  Ray Cwenar, Mid-Atlantic Region FAS Network Services Director, said “this will allow GSA to offer customers a consistent and cost effective cloud based telecommunications solution for small, medium, and large office applications.”

These cloud based VoIP solutions require minimal upfront costs compared to the high capital costs typically associated with building and maintaining agency-owned telephone systems. The VoIP solutions also reuse existing telephone cabling to further reduce implementation costs.

These VoIP solutions will provide great value and advanced technology for government agencies looking to replace or upgrade legacy telephone systems.  You can read more about the GSA Networx contract or contact Karl Muego at karl.muego@gsa.gov or (215) 446-4878 for more information.
