North Carolina Firm Wins GSA's First VETS Contract

Washington, DC – Database support services worth nearly a half million dollars became the first task order awarded against a small business set-aside contract for service-disabled, veteran-owned small technology firms, the U.S. General Services Administration announced today.

Carolina Management and Technology Inc. of Fayetteville, N.C., received the task order from GSA’s Greater Southwest Region for database systems support services worth an estimated $495,523 for 42 months, inclusive of three twelve month options.

"Helping veteran-owned small businesses provide top-quality products and services to GSA customers has been one of my top priorities,” said GSA Administrator Lurita Doan.  “With GSA being the first agency to use VETS, we also demonstrate our commitment to this GWAC's service-disabled veteran industry partners.  GSA is proud to be able to help those who have given and done so much to serve and protect our country." 

"Utilizing the VETS contract vehicle was easy and allowed us to obtain a solution to our requirement in a timely manner. Then, most importantly, it provided an opportunity for us to support a service-disabled veteran-owned business," said Tyree Varnado, Assistant Regional Administrator for GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The VETS GWAC is a multiple award contract with a five-year initial term and a five-year option period available.  It is designed to provide cutting edge technology solutions to federal agencies while assisting them in reaching their 3 percent goal for contracting with service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses.  A complete list of industry partners along with VETS contract and pricing information is available on the VETS GWAC web site at www.gsa.gov/vetsgwac
