Washington, DC  – At the 2007 Federal Acquisition Conference and Exposition (FACE), which runs June 19-20, 2007, at the Ronald Reagan and International Trade Center, hundreds of participants will have an opportunity to learn from outstanding acquisition community leaders in the federal government and private industry.

“It is important that a conference like FACE is available to the acquisition community, because it allows experts to share their knowledge about best practices and lessons learned that will assist us, working together, to accomplish our missions more successfully,” said Molly Wilkinson, GSA Chief Acquisition Officer.  “FACE also helps professionals by providing a foundation for delivering excellent acquisition services, in terms of cost, quality and performance."

The theme of this year’s conference is “Acquisition Frontiers: Blazing New Trails,” which reflects the federal government’s commitment to effective acquisition and reinforces the integral importance of acquisition professionals support of agencies’ fulfillment of their missions. This year’s conference sponsors are the Chief Acquisition Officers Council, the Federal Acquisition Institute, and the Department of Defense.

“Acquisition professionals represent a vital part of the overall government enterprise.  All missions are contractor dependent,” said Office of Federal Procurement Policy Administrator Paul Denett.  “FACE is a place to learn about strategic techniques, and it also provides an opportunity to develop the contracting tools needed to make a difference in how the federal government does business.”  Mr. Dennett will deliver the keynote address.

Providing direct access to numerous exhibitors’ products and services, and offering a myriad of training sessions that provide practical acquisition tools, FACE 2007 is the ideal forum for federal acquisition professionals and policy makers to share their insights and experiences.  To view the agenda and obtain more information about FACE, please visit http://www.fai.gov/resource/face2007.asp
