GSA Awards Three Contracts for HR Line of Business

WASHINGTON –The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded three initial Human Resources Line of Business contracts to companies offering governmentwide commercial solutions to agencies seeking to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness in their payroll, personnel and other human resource operations.
“GSA is thrilled to play a key role in another of the Administration’s efforts to integrate industry and government expertise to provide best value to government at the lowest cost to taxpayers,” said GSA Administrator Lurita Doan. “I urge our sister agencies to utilize GSA for the widest possible range of their procurement needs so that they can continue to focus on their core missions."
GSA awarded the contracts, listed on GSA’s Human Resources Line of Business special item numbers on Multiple Award Schedule 738.X, to Accenture National Security Services and Carahsoft Technology Corp., both of Reston, Virginia, and to Allied Technology Group, Inc., of Rockville, Maryland.
“GSA is pleased to have worked closely with the Office of Personnel Management on these Human Resources Line of Business awards that offer the opportunity to attract and select such highly qualified companies for our customers,” said Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Jim Williams. “These companies will bring industry best practices to government, which helps lower the costs for taxpayers.”
Under Office of Management and Budget rules, the awardees will compete with the Departments of Defense, Interior, Health and Human Services,Treasury and Agriculture, which also offer Human Resources Line of Business shared services.
Established in 2003, the governmentwide Human Resources Line of Business offers cost-effective, standardized, interoperable support for human capital managers, reducing the number of duplicate systems and processes. Such efficiencies provide best value for taxpayer dollars and are consistent with the goals of the President’s Management Agenda.
Founded in 1949, GSA serves as a centralized procurement and property management agency for the federal government.
