Richmond Field Office Operations Manager Earns Designation from BOMI International

Ishsherrie Cook, an Operations Manager for the GSA Richmond Field Office, recently completed coursework to obtain designation as a Facilities Management Administrator from the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) International.  Ishsherrie’s area of responsibility as Operations Manager covers Danville, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Richmond, and surrounding areas in Virginia.  She works daily with a team of GSA building managers—Charlie Armitage, William Blandford, Diana Henderson, Lynn Otto, and Cindy Ryder—to keep GSA’s buildings well maintained and to provide GSA’s customers with excellent service.

BOMI International is an independent institute for property and facility management education.  They offer professional development courses and programs for personnel with property, facility, or systems responsibilities.  Their coursework is designed to educate people who run facilities on how to manage a safe and productive environment, and how to best take care of tenant issues that may arise such as comfort, safety, daily operations, and maintenance.  The BOMI Facilities Management Administrator designation requires the completion of eight courses which provide valuable information including: planning, project management, environmental health and worker safety, and the knowledge to minimize costs and time management.

Ishsherrie’s dedication to earning this designation is an example of GSA’s overall commitment to continuously building a stronger GSA for our clients.
