Ruth Cox Named Regional Administrator of GSA’s Pacific Rim Region

WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration today announced the appointment of Ruth F. Cox to serve as the Regional Administrator of GSA’s Pacific Rim Region, effective August 1, 2011.
As the Pacific Rim Regional Administrator, Cox will oversee all of GSA’s acquisition and management operations in California, Arizona, Hawaii, and Nevada.  Cox will lead the region’s 1,025 employees in meeting the agency’s mission.  Additionally, she will manage a federal real estate inventory of roughly 1,200 owned and leased buildings.

Johnson, Administrator of General Services. "Ruth’s experience as an executive and manager will contribute to GSA’s remarkable efforts in the Pacific Rim Region."

Ruth has over 20 years of professional experience in the areas of technology marketing, business development, and political campaigns.  Ruth’s career includes leadership and management roles at computer technology companies where she launched a portfolio of software products and business tools.  Most recently, Ruth was the President and Executive Director of the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association, a clean energy technology trade association.  Ruth also served as the Executive Director of 21st Century Democrats and worked for the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team’s Office of Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs, supporting outreach to mayors across the country.   

Ruth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Psychology from George Washington University.
