GSA has made it easier for federal agencies to meet their green purchasing requirements for Comprehensive Procurement Guideline (CPG) items and other items that contain recovered materials.
The GSA inventory includes many products that meet Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) CPG established criteria for each of the following eight (8) product designation categories:
- Construction Products
- Landscaping Products
- Nonpaper Office Products
- Paper and Paper Products
- Park and Recreation Products
- Transportation Products
- Vehicular Products
- Miscellaneous Products
The Recycled Products Library, contains several listings of CPG compliant products and other recycled products that can be acquired from GSA.
The Environmental Specialty Category allows federal buyers with direct access to our variety of products offerings that contain environmental attributes, including recycled content products.
GSA has identified recycled content products in its online purchasing system with either a CPG or recycling (chasing arrows) symbol. For some products, vendors self-certify whether the product meets established criteria and determine which symbols to display.
GSA contracting specialists and industrial operations specialists do quality assurance checks. If there is a question about a particular designation, customers should contact the Schedule vendor for confirmation prior to placing an order.
When customers buy these products from GSA, they are meeting the procurement requirements established by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Section 6002, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 23.4, and Executive Order 13423.
