Welcome to GSA’s Introduction to GSA’s State and Local Programs training. This course is designed for State and Local government program and purchasing officials who will use and purchase supplies and services from GSA sources of supply. 
The target audience for this training is contracting professionals at all levels who seek to gain understanding or strengthen their knowledge of GSA ordering procedures for both Schedule and non-Schedule methods of purchase in an effort to benefit their respective State and Local governments. 
The course provides an overview of the GSA Multiple Award Schedules program with specific emphasis on use and associated benefits for State and Local Governments. It informs purchasing personnel of the supplies and services available for ordering and the associated procedures for locating and purchasing these items. The course also provides information on non-Schedule acquisition and donation programs that are available. 
Lesson 1 is a pre-requisite to the proceeding lessons, since it gives the foundation of the MAS program as it relates to S&L governments. 
Lesson 1 Learning Objectives: 
? Describe the Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) program and how these contracts are awarded 
? Identify the various ways State and Local governments can access GSA Schedules 
? Recognize the benefits of GSA’s buying power to the State and Local governments 
? Identify ordering procedures and e-Tools available to support State and Local use of MAS
