The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recently established the Strategic Sourcing Leadership Council (SSLC) to oversee government-wide strategic sourcing activities.GSA is working with OMB and partner agencies to create 10 new government-wide strategic sourcing solutions for a range of commonly purchased products and services.

One of these new solutions will be for janitorial and sanitation supplies, which includes supplies and equipment (excluding services) such as bleach, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, mops, floor buffers, etc.  A second one will be for maintenance, repair, and operations supplies, which includes supplies and equipment (excluding services) such as hardware, power tools, pipes, valves, electrical equipment, lighting etc.  GSA is taking a lead role in developing these solutions to bring commonsense improvements to the acquisition process.

To date, FSSI counts more than 20 federal agencies, both military and civilian, as active participants.  An important part of the FSSI process is working with industry to understand ways the government can reduce its costs.  Previous discussions with industry on the current FSSI solutions have identified behavioral changes as well as government requirements that reduce industry costs in serving Government, and help agencies reduce expenses.

We want to to hear from you, our industry partners, about commercial best practices that:

  • Save money,
  • Provide for more efficient business activities, and
  • Ways the commercial sector procures these products more efficiently than the government.
In becoming part of the dialogue, you will have the opportunity to share good practices with the inter-agency commodity teams, help scope these two vehicles appropriately, identify key requirements, and to be prepared to compete.

The upcoming event will primarily focus on product offerings under Schedules 51V, 56, 73, 75, and 81IB.

Your valuable input is needed in order to successfully build an FSSI solution to sustain lifecycle benefits to the end users!  Seating is limited so please join us and register now!
