Acquisition Objective: To provide access to a broad range of domestic and international network services to federal agencies at the lowest possible price.
Networx has contracts with the following industry leaders:
- AT&T Inc.;
- CenturyLink Inc.;
- Level 3 Communications;
- Sprint Corporation; and
- Verizon Communications.
These contracts are designed to bring state-of-the-art network solutions to federal agencies.
The program consists of two sets of acquisitions through which federal agencies can obtain services:

To select a supplier, contracting officers at federal agencies make a fair opportunity (PDF, 513 KB) decision based on factors that suit agency needs - including price, past performance, technical requirements or any other criteria deemed fit by the agency.
The Networx acquisition has predefined service level agreements (PDF, 989KB) for each service type. This enables the agency to know what to expect from suppliers and allows a high level of reliability for mission critical needs.
Federal agencies have purchased $762M in the first half of FY 2014.
Networx has saved federal customers over $332M in the first two quarters of FY 2014. Agencies that use Networx save 30-60 percent over the cost of most services at commercial rates.
Networx offers managed security services through the Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Services (MTIPS) program, which complies with the Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) initiative.
Managed Network Services (MNS) is another unique offering where the supplier provides overall management of an agency's infrastructure, including real-time proactive network monitoring, rapid troubleshooting and service restoration.
Networx Security Services offers Anti Virus Management, Intrusion Detection and Prevention and other offerings to provide a complete data, voice and security solution and protect agencies against constantly evolving security threats.

Modernizing networks with advanced technologies and cost savings
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is using Networx Universal for network modernization to transition the agency away from a frame relay network, and toward a managed virtual private network (VPN) for 93 HUD sites nationwide, and to provide HUD with Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS) to connect securely to the public Internet. HUD is expected to achieve 20 percent cost savings by using Networx for this contract award. In 2012, Networx saved customers over $700M, compared with commercial pricing.
Resolving technical issues for the Executive Office of the President
The Executive Office of the President (EOP) experienced problems with their streaming video broadcasts, which were transmitted over a Networx Universal industry partner's Internet connection. The Networx Program Office and the industry partner agreed to detail two senior engineers to EOP for approximately one month to work with the customer and troubleshoot the circuit. The team discovered an equipment problem and was able to resolve it quickly.
