Alignment with the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and Department of Defense Enterprise Architecture (DoDEA)
This provides a common framework and terminology for defining and understanding the components of an IT solution. Alignment with the FEA and DoDEA enable Alliant to evolve over time as technologies change without requiring a technical refresh. It also conforms to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policy mandates for reporting on IT investments.
Low 0.75 percent contract access fee
GWACs share the same low fee with GSA Schedules.
Access to all types of task orders
Alliant features fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, labor-hour, and time-and-materials task order types, providing greater flexibility in procuring different types of IT products and services and meeting your mission requirements.
How federal agencies have used Alliant
The IRS received Honorable Mention for using GSA's Alliant GWAC
In 2012, IRS used GSA's Alliant GWAC to acquire Enterprise Storage Services. IRS received Honorable Mention for this project by GCN (nongovernment link) for showing technical creativity, a willingness to test emerging technologies and the perseverance to push for big, cross-agency IT improvements in an era of budget and cost cutting. The task order has an estimated value of $138.7M over 10 years.
The federal government’s first cloud-based email service
GSA used Alliant to purchase the federal government’s first cloud-based email service, expected to lower costs by 50 percent in the next five years. The five-year, $6.7 million task order went to a number of industry partners in a teaming arrangement.
Increasing competition while reducing acquisition cycle time
The Department of the Navy recently conducted a General IT Development and Support Services strategic sourcing analysis, focusing on cost savings. They recommended increasing the use of existing contract vehicles to generate greater competition while reducing cycle time, including Alliant. Alliant will work with the Navy team to establish and deliver training opportunities.
Developing a secure agency-wide IT infrastructure
The Department of State awarded a 10-year task order to establish a secure IT network infrastructure, worth up to $2.5 billion if all options are exercised. Industry partners will help the State Department streamline services, realize economies of scale, and improve service delivery. Alliant enables the State Department to consolidate more than 100 existing task orders into four new ones.
Developing software to enhance encryption
The Air Force awarded a $19 million contract to develop software to enhance electronic key management systems and enable secure communications.
"The Alliant GWAC team was responsive, flexible and sensitive to our needs. We took short-notice ownership of a complex, multi-million dollar contract. Without the support of extremely competent GSA contracting staff, there is no way we could have put a contract in place to stabilize the stressful, tenuous workplace environment that was beginning to develop. We always felt part of the process from SOW development to contract award. The most pleasant contracting experience we've had to date." — Reginald L. Sennie, Major, USAF, MSC, CPHIMS
"Your customer service is unparalleled with any other contracting entity I have worked with in the past 37 years with 200 plus contracts under my belt. I look forward to a long and successful partnership with each and every one of you." — Patricia Lehtma, Defense Commissary Agency
"The Alliant GWAC Team is unyielding in their support during the placement of a task order and throughout its life cycle. I rest on the knowledge that the team responds swiftly to all inquiries. That has proven beneficial as the need to use Alliant has increased." — Patrick Clementine, General Services Administration
“The customer service that the GSA Alliant GWAC team provided was exceptional and the Statement of Work review support was very helpful.” — Gabriel Aviles, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
