When can I expect to receive credit monitoring services?
GSA has provided free credit monitoring services for those higher-risk SAM users impacted by the security vulnerability. Those users were notified via email.
How much will credit monitoring services cost?
This service is being offered at no cost for those entities that used their social security number as their taxpayer identification number in SAM, which may have put them at greater risk for identity theft.
Who will provide credit monitoring? How long will my credit be monitored?
GSA is working with Equifax (a nongovernment website) to provide SAM users with Credit Watch™ Gold with WebDetect for a period of one year. This will provide an “early warning system” to changes to your credit file and help you understand the content of your Equifax credit file.
