Maintenance, Repair & Operations Supplies (MRO)

UPDATE: The Maintenance, Repair, & Operations (MRO) purchase channel is ready for use by federal agencies. 

Customers may place orders on GSA Advantage!® or directly with MRO purchase channel contractors and receive BPA pricing.

The federal government currently spends almost $1.6 billion a year on Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) supplies. GSA offers federal agencies a fast and effective way to purchase these strategically sourced supplies at notably discounted prices.

About the MRO Purchase Channel Solution

GSA has established blanket purchase agreements with 10 contractors to sell products under the Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) strategic sourcing solution. Ten of these BPA holders are small businesses. Average pricing is 12 percent lower than offered previously within the government marketplace.

MRO strategic sourcing goals aim to:

  • Offer uniform prices; 
  • Measure total cost savings; 
  • Report/transactional data;
  • Aid agencies in managing their MRO spend; 
  • Reach socio-economic goals;
  • Drive regulatory compliance; and 
  • Provide sustainable solutions.

In order to streamline offerings and ensure lower prices, products are grouped into three categories: Hardware, Tools and Tool Cabinets and Paints, Adhesives and Sealants. These categories cover a wide range of products, varying from items such as hand and power tools, hoses and valves, paints, safety equipment, and portable generators.

Agencies can access this pricing through GSA Advantage!®, DoD EMALL or contractor-operated websites, catalogs and brick-and-mortar stores, using their federal SmartPay2 or government purchase card or purchase order.

MRO blanket purchase agreements fall under GSA’s Schedule 51V, the GSA Hardware SuperStore.
