GSA Publishes "The Integrated Workplace: A Comprehensive Approach to Developing Workspace"

WASHINGTON, DC -- To help Federal agencies develop workspace that better suits their business needs, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has published, "The Integrated Workplace: A Comprehensive Approach to Developing Workspace."
David Bibb, Deputy Associate Administrator for the Office of Real Property in GSA's Office of Governmentwide Policy, said that the "The Integrated Workplace: A Comprehensive Approach to Developing Workspace" is the first phase of a Federal Government workplace information clearinghouse to share information and expertise among agencies and industry. The 167-page report:
Provides guidelines to help agencies define important issues and needs for an organization's workspace.
Identifies measurement tools that can be used to track the workplace's effects on people and organizations.
Defines the basic elements of the Integrated workplace - people, technology, and space - and discusses how each of these should be considered when providing new or reconfigured offices.
"The Federal Government will need to compete more and more with the private sector for quality employees. The workplace has been proven to affect employee well-being and productivity and will play an increasingly important role in attracting and retaining skilled people," said G. Martin Wagner, Associate Administrator of GSA's Office of Governmentwide Policy."
