GSA awards architectural and engineering services contract for the Land Port of Entry in Beebe Plain, Vermont

Funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the award is part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda

BOSTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded an architectural and engineering services contract for the Land Port of Entry Project at Beebe Plain, Vermont. GSA awarded the $745,714 contract, funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, to Marble Fairbanks, a small business, to provide design development and construction documents for the project.

GSA’s objective is to provide a long-lasting and durable port that is sustainable and climate resilient and has low maintenance and operating costs. By renovating the existing port with the latest technology and equipment, the project will facilitate enhanced traffic management and inspection and:

     ● Assist U.S.- Customs and Border Protection in carrying out its mission at the international border crossing between Beebe Plain, Vermont, and Stanstead, Quebec.
     ● Improve economic, cultural and familial connections for the people who live along the border, who depend on cross-border community engagement for jobs and mutual aid,
often crossing through the port daily.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law includes a total of $3.4 billion for GSA to build and modernize land ports of entry on the country’s northern and southern borders. The investments will improve commerce and trade, enhance security, create good-paying construction jobs, and incorporate new and innovative sustainability features.
