GSA awards $15.5 million for architectural and engineering services for the Coburn Gore, Maine, Land Port of Entry project

Funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the announcement is part of President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda

BOSTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded a contract for architectural and engineering services for the Land Port of Entry Project in Coburn Gore, Maine.

Funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, GSA awarded the $15,549,893 contract to Dattner Architects to provide concept, design development and construction documents, as well as construction administration support.

GSA’s goals for the Coburn Gore port include providing a long-lasting and durable port which is sustainable and climate resilient, with low maintenance and operating costs.

The project will assist the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection (CBP) carry out its mission at the international border crossing between the Coburn Gore port, and Saint-Augustin-de-Woburn Quebec (Canada) Port of Entry.

The project will provide a new port that is functional and accessible for CBP to more efficiently carry out its agency mission. It will incorporate sustainability features that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, mitigate environmental impact, and simultaneously increase the mission readiness of the federal government by increasing resilience to climate change.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law includes a total of $3.4 billion for GSA to build and modernize land ports of entry on the country’s northern and southern borders. The investments will improve commerce and trade, create good-paying construction jobs, and incorporate new and innovative sustainability features.
