GSA hosts Industry Day for new Nashville, Tenn., courthouse project
The General Services Administration’s Office of Small Business Utilization (OSBU) and the Nashville Courthouse project team hosted an Industry Day on October 3rd at The Estes Kefauver Federal Building, 801 Broadway, Nashville, Tenn. The event provided project information to all interested vendors and subcontractors as part of the process for procuring a Design Builder (DB) for the new courthouse.
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Tennessee District Office and the University of Tennessee Procurement Technical Assistance Center also participated. GSA collaborated with these organizations, which are instrumental in preparing local small businesses interested in pursuing federal contracting opportunities to be competitive in the federal marketplace.
During the event, participants received an overview of the new Nashville Courthouse project, and OSBU conducted a matchmaking/networking session, providing the three short-listed firms interested in bidding on this project an opportunity to meet and exchange information with local small businesses interested in subcontracting.
Industry day events are just one of many ways GSA seeks to increase small business participation in federal contracting opportunities, providing access for small, minority, veteran, women and HUBZone business owners. The project team estimates award of the Nashville Courthouse Design Build contract by December 2017.
