GSA announces sale of 4.6 acres in Gainesville, Florida

Lot of land sale in Gainesville, FL

ATLANTA — The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is pleased to announce the public online sale of 4.6 acres of undeveloped land in Gainesville, Florida. The opening bid starts at $25,000.

This property, located at 4500 SE 122nd Terrace in Gainesville, is surrounded by timberland. The formerly fenced area of the property is relatively flat and partially covered in gravel. The land is situated in a rural area, primarily used for timberland and
recreational hunting, with limited residential use. The property is located approximately 10 miles east of the City of Gainesville and approximately eight miles west of the City of Hawthorne.

The property was formerly used by the Federal Aviation Administration for an ED7 Radio Communication Link Repeater site. The site has been decommissioned and all equipment has been removed.

This is a great example of how GSA works with our federal partners to dispose of or auction off property to benefit taxpayers,” said Jeff Smith, Regional Commissioner for GSA’s Southeast Sunbelt.

The property is vacant land and is available for inspection. The online auction is open through August 5, 2024, 11 a.m. CST.

This online auction is part of GSA’s ongoing efforts to dispose of excess properties, saving taxpayer dollars and making more efficient use of the government’s real estate assets. For more information on GSA’s online auctions of federally owned property, visit www.RealEstateSales.gov.
