History and Architectural Features

With granite panels, brick and a horizontally-articulated curtain wall, the Quincy Court Federal Building was originally constructed in 1948 as the Bond Department Store using Art Deco style. It was later renovated for office use in 1982 in the International style. After acquiring the building in 2005, GSA added a new entrance on Quincy Court and modernized the interior in 2009. The renovated building has won several awards from local and national architectural associations while also earning Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold certification.
