Gabriel Sanchez promoted to branch chief

Gabriel Sanchez was promoted to chief of the PBS Facilities Management Division’s Energy and Sustainability Branch Jan. 25, making him the newest member of the Region 6 PBS leadership team.
“He has been the driving force behind the creation of the regional smart buildings program, leading GSA Region 6 to have one of the best teams in the nation,” said PBS Regional Commissioner Kevin Rothmier in a message to PBS employees. “Gabriel has stepped forward in leadership roles both in his branch and in the region, and the insight he brings to the table will be a huge asset to our team.”
Sanchez first joined PBS in 2013. He has a background in public administration, power plant technologies and social sciences.
What do you look forward to most about this new position?
The one thing I really look forward to is working with our cross divisional partners in a new capacity. I have really enjoyed working with such great people in the past and am even more excited working with everyone in a new capacity.
How do you think your previous experience has prepared you for the new role?
I have definitely put the interests of my stakeholders as a priority and in my new role my focus will remain the same.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Customer service has been a focus for the Energy and Sustainability Branch and now I get to lead such an amazing group of individuals who bring such a diverse background to our successes.
