GSA's team effort leads to lease award for Veterans Benefits Administration in Little Rock
Securing a lease for a federal agency in a historic downtown building is no small feat, but for the GSA Public Buildings Service Leasing Division, it’s part of everyday work. Recently, our regional team awarded a lease for the Veterans Benefits Administration at the 200 West building, formerly the historic Worthen Bank Building, in downtown Little Rock. The lease, signed on October 30, 2024, covers nearly 42,000 rentable square feet. This lease award highlights GSA’s commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and value in real estate, acquisition, and technology services to the government and the American people.
This will be the new home for the VBA Little Rock Regional Office, which provides a variety of benefits and services to U.S. service members, veterans, and their families. This move is projected to bring more than 275 VBA employees from the northern part of Little Rock to the heart of the city, helping support the central business district area. This is expected to give the local economy a nice boost, with more foot traffic and business for nearby establishments. Local media have already taken notice, highlighting the team’s work in making this project a success.
“This was truly a team effort,” Sergio Leal, GSA leasing project manager, said. “From contracting to legal to our external partners, everyone involved played a vital role in getting us to this point. It’s rewarding to see all our hard work come to fruition.”
The project took over 18 months and required careful planning at every stage.
“Patience and attention to detail were key,” Jorge Gomez, GSA senior leasing project manager, added. “Every step of the process had to be carefully coordinated to meet the needs of our federal customer. We’re proud of how the team made it all work.”
The lease is just the beginning. VBA’s estimated move-in date is set for early 2026, and we’re excited to see this project come to life in the heart of Little Rock. Congratulations to the entire GSA team for their dedication and teamwork in making this a reality!
