Say “Hello” to Small Business Opportunities at GSA
September was Small Business Month, but at the General Services Administration (GSA), we create small business opportunities all year long…and it all starts with “Hello!” That’s how GSA’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization says all new business opportunities begin. That’s also why small business outreach is so important to GSA.
When small businesses begin looking for contracting opportunities with the federal government, they often get detoured to a consultant who may come with a hefty fee. This is especially true for minority-owned small businesses. But it doesn’t have to be that way; GSA does it for free.
Our Small Business Specialists are located around the country to help navigate the pathway of federal contracting. To get the word out, they attend small business events in local communities to meet one-on-one with people. We also have free training videos and resources that show you how to do business with us. Even during the pandemic, GSA’s Small Business Specialists held numerous virtual events open to everyone.
But that’s not all, this year we held Small Business Works 2021 in September. The virtual event showed small business owners how to market their businesses with GSA, and included a matchmaking event and review of upcoming opportunities with the federal government. This event was another free offering from GSA to the small business community.
Why does GSA do all this?
Helping small businesses is one of the ways we support and strengthen the American economy. When we provide opportunities for all small businesses, including small disadvantaged, women-owned, veteran-owned, service disabled veteran-owned and HUBZone small businesses, we are doing just that and a whole lot more.
GSA’s outreach efforts have been applauded by the Small Business Administration. In fact, we recently received an A+ on their Small Business Procurement Scorecard for Fiscal Year 2020. And this is the 11th year in a row that GSA has received an “A” grade or higher!
We would like to continue with this enviable record of accomplishment. But that’s where you come in. So, let us help you. It all starts with a “hello!”
