GSA exercises $2.5 million for Construction Management and Commissioning Services contract for new construction for Land Port of Entry in Dunseith, North Dakota

LAKEWOOD, Colorado – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has exercised an option for the Construction Management and Commissioning Services contract for the new construction project at the Land Port of Entry in Dunseith, North Dakota. The contract is funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

GSA awarded a $746,212 base contract plus options to Jacobs Technology, Inc. in July 2022. The option being exercised now is for construction management and commissioning services valued at $2.5 million. Jacobs will assist GSA in requirements development, acquisition, design reviews and construction management for the project.

The overall project will assist the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection to carry out its mission at the border crossing that connects Dunseith with Boissevain, Manitoba.

Most traffic through the port is people visiting the International Peace Garden along the border.

GSA’s goals focus on improving current facilities and expanding new technologies to facilitate individual travel.

GSA issued the Phase II design-build solicitation in September and anticipates awarding the design-build contract in the coming spring.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law includes a total of $3.4 billion for GSA to build and modernize land ports of entry on the country’s northern and southern borders. The investments will improve commerce and trade, create good-paying construction jobs, and incorporate new and innovative sustainability features.

This announcement is part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda in growing the American economy from the bottom up and middle-out-from rebuilding our Nation’s infrastructure, to creating a manufacturing and innovation boom, to building a clean-energy economy and making communities more resilient.
