Temporary northbound lane closures at San Ysidro Land Port of Entry to accommodate construction work on Pedestrian Bridge

SAN YSIDRO, Calif. ㅡ The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announces the start of construction work on pedestrian bridge improvements at the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry (LPOE) to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations. Work is scheduled to begin on the easternmost portion of the pedestrian bridge on September 3, 2024 at 5 a.m. and last through April 2025. During this time, a segment of the pedestrian bridge’s width will be fenced off to accommodate construction work; however, the bridge will remain open to pedestrian traffic at all times. 

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 5 a.m. the Rail Court offramp and the easternmost lane of the Interstate 5 (I-5) north at the port will be closed continuously until Wednesday September 11, 2024 at 5:00  a.m. for the installation of construction scaffolding. All other northbound I-5 north lanes from the port will remain open.
