GSA issues draft solicitation for leasing support services
Draft solicitation for 5th Generation Broker contract open for public comment
WASHINGTON - On July 8, 2024, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) issued a draft solicitation for the next generation of the GSA Leasing Support Services contract, GLS Max for public comment. GLS Max is a leasing services support contract that leverages the use of commercial broker expertise to address a large volume of government leasing requirements at no additional cost to the government.
GLS Max is designed to be a nimble contract with the ability to address evolving post pandemic customer needs by expanding service offerings to include lease acquisitions, renewals and expansions. GLS Max also includes a robust, but segmented, array of requirements development and post award supplemental services increasing flexibility to order only the necessary supplemental services. Lastly, GLS Max enhances efforts to focus on tasking Portfolios of Work.
GLS Max is the culmination of knowledge and experience garnered over the past 20 years from four preceding national leasing support contracts. GSA’s prior national leasing support contracts have resulted in nearly $700 million in lease cost avoidance through rent credits to GSA’s customers housed in leased space.
“GLS Max represents a transformative step forward in our mission to streamline leasing services and optimize taxpayer savings,” said Crofton Whitfield, Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Leasing, Public Buildings Service. “By aligning service offerings and leveraging private sector expertise, GLS Max not only enhances our core leasing operations but also provides the flexibility needed to support our regions effectively. This new contract underscores our commitment to efficiency and strategic engagement, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of public sector leasing.”
The draft solicitation will be open for public comment until Monday, July 22, 2024 and can be viewed on SAM.gov.
