GSA to Sell Federal Building in Bemidji via Online Auction
CHICAGO — The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced today the start of the public sale for the Federal Building in Bemidji, Minnesota. The decision was reached after a thorough review of options and authorities available to GSA. This action is part of GSA’s efforts to make more efficient use of its real estate assets while saving taxpayer dollars.
About the Online Auction:
- The auction is scheduled to start on August 27, 2020, at 2 p.m. CT on RealEstateSales.gov.
- Each bidder is required to submit a bid registration of $25,000, and the minimum opening bid is $100,000.

About the Property:
- Located at 522 Minnesota Avenue NW in the central business district of Bemidji, the Federal Building was constructed circa 1959-60 and was originally built as a U.S. Post Office.
- The 50,499-square-foot, multi-level brick office building has an adjacent paved parking lot with 28 spaces.
- The property encompasses 0.64 acre.
- The building’s lobby was renovated in 2008.
