AWT: Advanced Oxidation Process for Cooling Towers
AOP oxidizes minerals and contaminants in cooling-tower water photochemically. It kills bacteria and breaks down calcium buildup to reduce scaling.
Researchers from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory found that the AOP technology met GSA water standards. It significantly decreased condenser tube fouling, reduced water use, and had a two year payback period at average GSA water/sewer costs.
