GSA DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY

SUBJECT:  Delegation of Authority for Approving Cyclical Maintenance Projects for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts

1.  Purpose. This Order implements a limited delegation of authority from the Regional Commissioner to each Field Office Manager to facilitate the review and approval of cyclical maintenance project requests from the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC).

2.  Background. The Delegation of Cyclical Maintenance Authority and Interagency Agreement (August 2007), referenced herein as “the Cyclical Maintenance Delegation,” delegates the authority to perform limited cyclical maintenance in government-owned buildings occupied by the U.S. Courts. Before the AOUSC undertakes or procures any cyclical maintenance, the agency must have the written consent of the local Public Buildings Service (PBS) Regional Commissioner.

3.  Delegation of Authority. Effective immediately, the authority to review, approve, and provide consent to the AOUSC for cyclical maintenance requests is delegated to the Field Office Manager of the field office where the building is located, consistent with the limitations prescribed in the Cyclical Maintenance Delegation.

4.  Limitation. The authority delegated above shall not be re-delegated.

5.  Implementing Actions. The regional Field Office Managers and other appropriate officials shall take the necessary actions to implement this Order.
