Revision and Termination of Climate Policies and Directives, Provisioning of Information (IT) Devices and Sustainable Transportation for Official Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel, in accordance with Presidential Directives

Purpose:

The President issued the following Executive Orders on January 20, 2025:

  • Unleashing American Energy (Jan. 20, 2025)
  • Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions (Jan. 20, 2025)


Based upon these Presidential Directives, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has determined the listed GSA climate- and sustainability-related policy directives, guidance, and plans are superseded in accordance with the below instructions:

  • Provisioning of Information Technology (IT) Devices, GSA IT
  • FTR Bulletin 24-02, Sustainable Transportation for Official Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel, Office of Government- wide Policy


Applicability:

All HSSOs are hereby instructed to (1) review all operations to ensure implementation of this Memorandum to the fullest extent possible; and (2) provide Mehul Parekh with a list of any additional policy directives, guidance, or plans that should be considered for rescission as soon as possible. This will be an ongoing process until all policy directives, guidance, or plans are reviewed and considered.

Revision:

The following order is to be revised, effective immediately:

  • Provisioning of Information Technology (IT) Devices – These documents will be revised to remove sustainability language that was inserted by the last Administration.

Cancellation:

The following is to be canceled, effective immediately:

  • FTR Bulletin 24-02, Sustainable Transportation for Official Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel – This document, which provided travel guidance to Federal workers, encouraged sustainable travel options.
