Designation of GSA Officers to act as Regional Administrator

1.  Purpose.

This order designates, in order, certain officials of the General Services Administration (GSA) to serve as an Acting Regional Administrator during any period in which a Regional Administrator has died, resigned, or otherwise has become unable to perform the functions and duties of the Regional Administrator.

2.  Scope.

This Order establishes a uniform Order of Succession for Regional Administrator in all regions.

3.  Order of Succession. 

     a.  The Administrator may appoint officials who shall act as, and perform the functions and duties of, the Regional Administrator during any period in which the Regional Administrator has died, resigned, or otherwise has become unable to perform the functions and duties of the Regional Administrator.  Any such designation shall supersede this Order of Succession.

     b.  Subject to paragraph 4 of this order, in the absence of an appointment by the Administrator under paragraph 3.a., the following officials in each of their respective GSA Regions, in the order listed below, shall act as and perform the functions and duties of the Regional Administrator:

           (1)  Regional Administrator, Regions 1 and 2:

                 (a)  Regional Commissioner, Region 2, Public Buildings Service; and

                 (b)  Regional Commissioner, Region 1, Public Buildings Service.

           (2)  Regional Administrator, Region 3:

                 (a)  Regional Commissioner, Region 3, Public Buildings Service; and

                 (b)  Deputy Regional Commissioner, Region 3, Public Buildings Service.

           (3)  Regional Administrator, Regions 4 and 7:

                 (a)  Regional Commissioner, Region 7, Public Buildings Service; and

                 (b)  Regional Commissioner, Region 4, Public Buildings Service.

            (4)  Regional Administrator, Regions 5, 6, and 8:

                 (a)  Regional Commissioner, Region 5, Public Buildings Service;

                 (b)  Regional Commissioner, Region 6, Public Buildings Service; and

                 (c)  Regional Commissioner, Region 8, Public Buildings Service.

            (5)  Regional Administrator, Regions 9 and 10:

                  (a)  Regional Commissioner, Region 9, Public Buildings Service; and

                  (b)  Regional Commissioner, Region 10, Public Buildings Service. 

             (6)  Regional Administrator, Region 11:

                  (a)  Regional Commissioner, Region 11, Public Buildings Service; and

                  (b)  Director, Office of Real Estate Delivery, Region 11, Public Buildings Service.
