GSA ORDER

SUBJECT:  Order of Succession – Public Buildings Service (PBS)

1.  Purpose. This Order establishes the order of succession to the office of the Regional Commissioner, Public Buildings Service, Northeast and Caribbean Region.   

2.  Cancellation. This Order cancels and supersedes 2PBS 1080.4D, Succession to Office - Public Buildings Service.

3.  Nature of Revision. This Order is revised to update those officials designated to act during the absence or incapacity of the Regional Commissioner.    

4.  Regional Commissioner, PBS. The following officials are designated to serve as Acting Regional Commissioner, PBS, in the following order of succession, during the absence or incapacity of the Regional Commissioner. Each designee shall act with the full authority and responsibility of the Regional Commissioner and shall occupy the office of the Regional Commissioner. In the event that the official designated is not available, the next designated official will act. 

     a.  Deputy Regional Commissioner

     b.  Director, Organizational Resources Division

     c.  Director, EbM Service Center Division

     d.  Director, Manhattan Service Center Division

     e.  Director, Project Management Division

This order of succession applies to the permanent incumbent of the position rather than to anyone who may be temporarily occupying that position.

5.  Exercise of Authority. An official serving as Acting Regional Commissioner shall, in that capacity, exercise all the authorities and perform all the functions of the office of the Regional Commissioner, in addition to performing the official’s regularly assigned duties.
