Region 9 GSA ORDER

SUBJECT: Pacific Rim Region Designated Core Hours

1. Purpose and Applicability: This order provides regional operating guidance in the administration of designated core hours of work for Region 9 (R9) regionally reporting employees.  The purpose is to establish uniformity and clarity and increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
   
   For consistency, the designated regional core hours are the period of the day when all R9 regionally reporting employees must be at work if they are not in leave status or if they are not on their approved regular day off under an alternate work schedule.  All R9 regionally reporting employees, including those on a regular, compressed or flexible work schedule, are expected to be at work during the designated core hours from 9:00AM to 2:30PM local time.

2. Cancellation:  9ADM 9620.1A Flexible and compressed work schedules for non bargaining unit employees dated June 30, 1993. 9 ADM 9620.2 Alternative Work Schedules for Region 9 AFGE bargaining unit employees dated June 30, 1993.  Alternative Work Schedules Memorandum for all Region 9 PBS Regional Office Employees dated July 2, 1993.

3.  Effective date:  The provisions outlined in this order are effective upon signing.
    
4. Implementing actions:

   a. Implementation of this guidance as it affects employees represented by a labor bargaining unit is contingent upon completion of labor relations obligations.  

   b. The Regional Administrator, or designated representative, may cancel this order upon publication of a superseding guidance that cancels it or by written notice of cancellation from the appropriate program official.
