WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

The General Services Administration strives to be at the cutting edge of industry. As such, we understand and value the importance of cultivating industry relationships. The GSA Great Lakes Region Industry Networking Expo will provide a forum for the various business lines within the region to talk directly with you, our industry experts, current collaborators, and prospective partners, about upcoming project opportunities and the types of services we require. This event will include project forecasting discussions and educational sessions on how to do business with GSA. We will also host a series of panel discussions, one of which will focus on strategic partnerships. Engaging each other enables our shared community an opportunity to inform, network, and educate each other about best practices, prevailing industry issues, and the value of doing public work.

Our goal for hosting this event is to:

  • Encourage a diverse pool of GSA contract firms by making information accessible and understandable across a wide spectrum of federal contracting experience (from new and curious to well-established and proficient).
  • Convey foundational information for encouraging success: PBS organizational mission, structure, services, procurement systems and processes, forecasted opportunities, and current opportunities.
  • Provide a forum to encourage industry networking opportunities between small and large businesses, general contractors and subcontractors, etc.
  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of the different GSA PBS business lines and the services they require.
  • Discuss the selection processes specific to the different types of services and projects (architect/engineering, repair and alteration, capital construction, and building services).
  • Explanation of the different small business classifications at the federal level.
