GSA awards $3.5M small business construction contract for VHA

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The U.S. General Services Administration has awarded a contract to Ho-Chunk Builders Company, based in Winnebago, Nebraska, for a new Veterans Health Administration Community Based Outpatient Clinic in GSA’s North Platte Federal Building.

This project will provide for the relocation of an existing CBOC in leased space and follow the VHA’s Patient Aligned Care Team model to provide veterans with primary health care that is patient-centered, data driven and team-based.

“When completed, the renovated space at the North Platte Federal Building will enhance the VA’s ability to perform its important mission,” said GSA Regional Administrator Michael Copeland. “This contract award also helps GSA meet our ambitious goals to award contracts to small businesses.”

Project details:

  • The project award includes a total amount of $3,513,798.49.
  • Ho-Chunk Builders Company is a qualified 8(a) small disadvantaged business.
  • Construction on the project is expected to begin in spring 2019 and is expected to be completed in fall 2020.
  • The project includes the full renovation of 15,000 rentable square feet on the 3rd floor.
