Notes
- GSS Business Development Director Kristine Stein discussed the previous GSS Industry Day in November and informed the board of a potential smaller GSS Furniture and Furnishings Industry Day sometime in 2025. The smaller event would allow for vendors to meet with their Contracting Officers. Rebecaa discussed her experience at the GSS Industry Day in Orlando and said it was the best one she has been to. The other Board members who couldn’t attend remarked it conflicted with another large conference, Ed Spaces, and GSA noted it would do its best to avoid that conflict in the future.
- Kris Stein also led a discussion on the new WILL bailment agreement for GSA Headquarters in Washington D.C. open for quotes until 12/19/24. The WILL 2.0 will have a smaller footprint than the original but still will give vendors the opportunity to showcase their products to prospective Federal users.
- Filling in for GSS MAS Branch Chief Shaun Kelly, Katherine Knecht discussed the CTA survey results for the Packaged Office SIN. Linked in the agenda, the webpage has all the information needed for vendors to understand the changes.
- Annaleigh Warmack discussed the proposed changes she had for GSA’s flooring certifications. Previously discussed in a meeting with Shaun Kelly and Jim Boyle, there will be some updates to the optional certifications vendors can make in their contract. This better reflects current industry standards and practices.
- Next, furniture sales trends for the Office Furniture and Packaged Office Furniture SINs. The Packaged Office SIN has seen a decline in revenue due to two factors: The updated note of how set-asides are applied to Package Office and the change from Letter of Supply to Contractor Teaming Agreements results in teaming partners reporting revenue under their GSA contract, and Office Furniture SIN, rather the previous version of the Prime Vendor reporting all the sales under the Package Office SIN.
- Lastly, Industry Board members remarked that there seems to be a decline in the Federal Sales to small businesses in the Furniture category. We discussed the data available and how the vendors could find the data themselves and sort it in a way that was advantageous.
