13:17:24 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
Apologies for missing roll call. Technical difficulties. HHS/FDA cybersecurity blocks GSA Zooms and GSA links, so joining from my personal computer. Finally here!!!
13:18:07 From Bobby Talebian (Member) to Host and panelists:
I had similar issues and am on now too.
13:30:03 From Corinna Turbes (Member) to Host and panelists:
with apologies - a matter has arisen that needs my attention - I will return ASAP.
13:34:13 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
When voting, is it possible to put the question/issue up for vote into the chat so it’s clear what we’re voting on?
13:34:47 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
Delay for Corinna to get back?
13:38:33 From Amy Holmes (Member) to Host and panelists:
Thanks everyone!
13:47:46 From Daniel Schuman (Chair) to Host and panelists:
Here’s the Seize the Moment Report: https://www.opengovpartnership.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Seize-the-Moment_20210520.pdf
14:04:05 From John Dierking (Member) to Host and panelists:
Greatly appreciated, Daniel. Thank you.
14:05:03 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
I’ll work with Daniel and Arthur to find some time that works for us to another mtg to discuss the methodology, recognizing that we’re approaching the holidays, so that’ll make things more difficult.
14:22:45 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
No I object.
14:25:38 From John Dierking (Member) to Host and panelists:
I would suggest allowing for flexibility by deferring to the Chair, depending on the particular situation. This would also address Joyce’s concern about repetitive comments?
14:45:03 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
I appreciate the conversation and debate, all. :)
14:48:13 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
As I understand it, and to Daniel’s point, the FAC is distinctly NOT the MSF (insofar as it cannot be due to restrictions on FAC activity and what that looks like vs. what an MSF is for OGP purposes) - but we have the flexibility to examine what the frontier between FAC/MSF looks like, and how close we get to touching it (through things like the public participation fairs or whatever form they take, for example)
14:53:15 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
I’m all for public participation fairs and if an online engagement tool feeds into and culminates in a public participation fair, I’m all for it. But I think that’s all a big undertaking.
14:54:10 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
GSA has been doing all that already anyway over the last year, I think.
14:56:03 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
That’s true - though I think legally what that can look like (if GSA hosts) is different than what it would mean for crafting NAP commitments if it’s through the FAC.
14:56:49 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
But I’d defer to GSA for more about how they’re structured their “listening sessions” in the past
15:01:58 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
Would it be possible to have the timeline on screen?
15:06:54 From Amy Holmes (Member) to Host and panelists:
Hello all, I have to leave the meeting a little early. Thanks for the productive meeting.
15:14:22 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
Concur
15:21:29 From Dr. Joyce Ajayi (Member) to Host and panelists:
I concur
15:25:48 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
Is there a way w/ technology to overlap timing of steps (instead of sequential)? For example, similar to “living evidence guidelines” where draft NAP could be published online as part of feedback process, while having draft NAP near done https://livingevidence.org.au/living-guidelines/
15:26:13 From Janice Luong (Member) to Host and panelists:
Great question, Kristen
15:27:51 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
How can we reset NAP expectations so that we can stay on schedule?
15:32:57 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
Wait and also investigate the tech options, so we can parallel track public input, feedback, iterations to stay on schedule without shrinking public input & co-creation
15:36:15 From Ade Odutola to Host and panelists:
Stepping away briefly. Will be back shortly.
15:44:41 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
+1 especially if GSA could record invited speaker’s talks and put on OGFAC website for public to watch after live presentation?
15:46:58 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
Do we need a 30 day public notification before that 12 month 24 hr “meeting” can be set up?
15:47:30 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
How would quorum work for that
15:47:49 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
We don’t need a quorum if we don’t vote(?).
15:48:12 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
Hacking the bureaucracy, I like it! 🙂Yes to radical transparency and co-creating content in the open
15:48:30 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
Loving the look on Arthur’s face. :)
15:49:44 From Dr. Kristen Honey (Member) to Host and panelists:
Suggestion: When exploring with GSA lawyers, consider example of GitHub that GSA/agencies use and develop code in the open. Ditto for NAP, just writing not coding
15:51:32 From Daniel Schuman (Chair) to Host and panelists:
good advice
15:54:31 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
That’s a good point.
15:54:42 From Josh Tauberer (Member) to Host and panelists:
Especially within a new incoming administration.
15:58:59 From John Dierking (Member) to Host and panelists:
Thank you, All!
15:59:03 From Kiril Jakimovski (Member) to Host and panelists:
thank you!
15:59:20 From Janice Luong (Member) to Host and panelists:
Thank you!
