The Milwaukee Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse is one of the last bastions of Romanesque Revival architecture in the Midwest and houses both a U.S. District and U.S. Bankruptcy court.

Public hours & access: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday (except federal holidays); all visitors must pass through electronic security via the main entrance on Wisconsin Avenue. A wheelchair accessible entrance is located on Jackson Street, immediately north of the garage doors. Security staff are located inside and will open the door for visitors, after which they will be subject to security screening.

Public parking
Parking is available at the 411 E. Wisconsin Office Building (adjacent to the courthouse) and on Jackson Street between Wisconsin Avenue and Mason Street or between Clybourn and Michigan streets. One-hour metered parking is available across the street from the courthouse. No public parking is available on the streets bordering the courthouse or within the courthouse garage.

Awards
The courthouse earned Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED®) certification for existing buildings in July 2013 and was designated an ENERGY STAR® building in 2000, with re-designation in 2010.
